Beneath the Surface

Though surface treatments, such as cabinet finish, paint, stone, tile and wallpaper convey the style sensibility of kitchens and baths, underlying technological innovation is changing everything to allow for more sophisticated and creative product selections. So, while seeking out the most innovative new appliances, cabinetry and lighting solutions, keep an eye on innovative new surface details. Though sparse colorful options exist for the adventurer, surface colors remain primarily neutral, with grays morphing toward browns in 2015. One might utilize an old-school printed wallpaper, furnishings, fabrics, art and accessories to infuse optimistic pops of color. Hexagon is the shape of choice and metalized finishes add a touch of luxury.
